Thistleberry Quilt Block 1
Starting a new block-of-the-month courtesy of Joann Fabrics. The newest one out of the gate is Thistleberry. This pattern is again from quiltblocks© and I have to say they have another hit in my opinion. The finished quilt will measure 76 ½” x 93 ½” and has the setting kit, binding, and backing kit available as well as the 12 monthly blocks for purchase.
The patterns are very unique and the color scheme is fantastic. I’ve already put the first block together and it looks great.
The difficulty level of this quilt on a scale from 1 to 5 would have to be a two. The patterns are beautiful and the colors reminiscent of Easter. I’ve passed on the last three patterns put out for Joann Fabrics and am pleased to say I’ll be putting this one together.
I’m working on Block #2 of this quilt, and something is not right with the measurements. Perhaps I should get the seam ripper out and start ripping. The direction say that I should measure before sewing. Wish I had measured!!!
I had a little difficulty with block 2 as well, but after sewing the first strip down realized that I needed to sew with a scant 1/4″ for it to work properly on this block. I’ll post the block later on today.
I’m looking for the “light blue vine” #BTY13145396/QBQ13145792. That’s what is on the block #6 of “Thisleberry”. I need 4 yards in order to finish this quilt. Joanne in west palm beach don’t have anymore. Who knows where I can get this fabric from?

Hi There! I just bought the 12 blocks to start the Thistleberry quilt top. On my package it says the “light blue vine” fabric is #BTY13145388/QBQ13145784. I would like to find some of that fabric also. I wonder if they have the numbers wrong??
Helen, the setting kit is still available online through Etsy and eBay. They are rather expensive getting them this way however. If you are interested in finishing this quilt, I have a spare setting kit that I would trade for a finished mini-quilt of yours if your willing.
Dona, you are correct with the number… unfortunately, this was a 2014 block of the month and Joann’s does not keep it stocked very long.
